College Student Suspended for Partner’s Facebook Comments

George “Trey” Barnett, a college student, has been suspended by the University of Tulsa for offensive comments made on Facebook. The twist here is that the comments, which involved two professors and one student, were not posted by Barnett but by his spouse, Christopher Magnum.  The comments, however, did appear on Barnett’s Facebook page because he was tagged by Marcum. University officials claimed that these comments constituted harassment and told Barnett to have them removed from his Facebook page. It took Barnett 5 months to remove the comments.
